Research On The Compilation And Revision Of Local Records Of Gansu And Ningxia In The Qing Dynasty

For Gansu and Ningxia,the Qing Dynasty was a special period.Since the Qing Dynasty,Gansu Province was officially established and Ningxia was officially established as a government,which was subordinate to Gansu Province.With political integration,Gansu and Ningxia have truly integrated in various fields such as economy,military,education,ethnicity and customs.At that time,the objective conditions for systematically compiling local chronicles were met.The reason for the prosperity of compilation and revision of local records of Gansu and Ningxia in the Qing Dynasty was not only the trend of times,but also the beginning of the political district and the social development were gradually on track.The first records of Gansu Province and the first records of Ningxia government were both born during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty.Compared with the progress of the nation,the compilation of local records was quite lagging behind.In terms of number,the local records of Gansu and Ningxia in the Qing Dynasty were not affluent,but under the combined effect of characteristics of the times and region,the compilation of local records of Gansu and Ningxia in the Qing Dynasty was self-contained and worth exploring.This paper takes the local records of Gansu and Ningxia in the Qing Dynasty as research object and adopts methods including quantitative analysis,historical analysis,comparative analysis,analogy analysis,dialectical analysis.Analysis of the development law,the disappearance of local records.Exp lore the process and specific links of compilation,as well as,the relationship between the formation of books and the characteristics of times and regions.Specific to compilation process,the most direct influence on the compilation of local records is the editors.According to functions,the group of editors can be divided into two categories:organizers and actual participants.It was unique that dependence on local students was very strong and women donated to publish local records.Going deep into the essence of compilation,from the two perspectives of style construction and collection and application of data,the sources of style and data of local records of Gansu and Ningxia in the Qing Dynasty both were with diversity characteristics.In terms of style,it had both inheritance and change,specifically included model records,Iocal records,remote records,Wugong County historical records and some breakthrough attempt.As far as the data are concerned,it collected data from old records,archives and first-hand materials from interview.At the level of editing methods,various categories are generated through permanent establishment,addition and deletion.The addition and deletion highlight the characteristics of frontiers,ethnic groups,local history,local culture and the characteristics of times in the Qing Dynasty.When collecting materials,it adhered to the principle of extensiveness and territory.The specific methods included inventory,purchase,collection,borrowing and interviewing.When using materials,it adhered to the principle of first explanatory notes and the center of old local records.The specific methods included supplement,refining,examining,identifying,collating,deleting,and sorting out.Considering local characteristics,the compilers used some special techniques to emphasize and highlight them.At last,through group,process and details,we can see the compiling thought of local records of Gansu and Ningxia in Qing Dynasty.From four points about politics historiography local cultural heritage and philosophy,revealing the characteristics of pluralism and isomorphism.In terms of political ideology,it focuses on two perspectives of governance and ethnic group.In terms of historiographical ideology,it discusses from three aspects of qualities of authors,process and features of editing,the origin between historical records and local records.In terms of local cultural inheritance,it demonstrates the positive role from three aspects of purpose and process of compilation and the long-term significance.In terms of Chinese philosophy,the compilation is on the basis of some viewpoints about contradiction,neutralization,change,knowing and doing.
