Research On Japanese Cultural Colonization Propaganda In Tai·Tung Jin Pao(1931-1945)

Newspapers are both participants and witnesses of history.As the originator of modern Chinese newspapers and periodicals in Dalian,Tai·Tung Jin Paois of great historical value to the historical study of Japanese colonization in China.Tai·Tung Jin Pao was first published in Dalian in November 1908 and last published in October1945,it can cover the whole process of Japanese colonial invasion and cultural colonization propaganda,and is a very comprehensive and precious historical document for the study of Japanese cultural colonization of China.Japan’s colonial aggression against China includes various means such as military colonization,political rule,economic plunder,and cultural colonization.Cultural colonization needs to achieve certain effects unconsciously.There is no political or military means to be strong and rapid,but colonization through cultural means can control the soul of people,penetrate into the "bone marrow" of people,and "rebirth" people by changing their worldview,values,national consciousness,and way of life,domesticating the people into "obedience" and achieving effects that political and economic plunder cannot achieve.In order to probe into the historical features of Japanese cultural colonization,this paper takes the cultural colonization propaganda of Tai·Tung Jin Pao as the research object and sorts out the historical materials of Japanese cultural colonization of China.Using the methods of literature research and text analysis,using the theories of construction and discourse,the real intention and realistic influence of Japan’s cultural colonization activities,such as paralyzing the soul of the national thought and domesticating the“Loyal and virtuous citizens”,were deeply explored.On the basis of sorting out the relevant academic history and defining the relevant concepts,this paper analyzes and summarizes the important contents of the founding and existence,purpose and distribution of the Tai·Tung Jin Pao,the new historical facts,such as the origin of the newspaper’s name and the specific date of its founding,are found and confirmed,which provide detailed historical data support for the follow-up research.Then from the perspective of ideological culture,educational culture and religious culture,the first is to study the stage changes of Japanese colonial thought inculcating into China during Manchukuo period,including the Japanese colonists to create a friendly“Harmonious” atmosphere,to build a sense of friendship and“National identity”,beautify the war and uglify“National” and so on;Secondly,it discusses how the Japanese colonists used the educational and cultural means of the newspaper to propagate the“New academic system” in order to achieve the goal of enslavement and assimilation.Third,it discusses how the Japanese colonists used the religious culture to civilize the Chinese People’s thoughts,so as to make the Chinese people understand the historical truth of the Japanese cultural colonization of China more clearly.At last,it discusses the propaganda of cultural colonization of our country against the Japanese colonists,which is a multi-dimensional resistance to cultural colonization.It is found that the Japanese colonizers propagated the colonial ideology and culture everywhere.As the mouthpiece and mouthpiece of Japanese colonial policy,Tai · Tung Jin Pao constantly propagated the ideas of "one heart and one heart","friendly nation consciousness" and "common prosperity of Greater East Asia",in order to construct a "harmonious" picture of "full of friendship".At the same time,Tai·Tung Jin Pao attached great importance to strengthening "national identity" and national consciousness,and in the newspaper,by whitewashing the war situation and vilifying the "people",stigmatizing the "corrupt and tyrannical" image of the KMT and the CCP,demonizing the "criminal conspiracy" image of the UK and the US,inciting the hatred of the Chinese people against the KMT and the CCP and the Anglo-American alliance,fabricating the image of Japan’s "bravery and kindness".Secondly,the Japanese colonizers also established a whole set of slavish education system from the central to the local level.Tai·Tung Jin Pao strengthened the slavish education in the colonies by propagating and beautifying the school control system,explaining the "new school system",strengthening the popularization and indoctrination of Japanese,and advocating the cancellation of Japanese exclusion textbooks and compilation of textbooks,so as to cultivate "loyal and virtuous citizens".After the outbreak of the Pacific War,Tai·Tung Jin Pao turned to wartime propaganda in the service of the military,and trained students to obey and serve Japan from the ideological point of view,accepted the "founding spirit" that paralysed the soul,enslaved people to participate in "hard-working service",and acted for the Japanese militarism,aiming to reduce the students’ will to fight for the nation.Thirdly,The Tai · Tung Jin Pao also cooperated with the Japanese puppet forces in cultural colonization by obsculating the people under the guise of reviving Confucianism,distorting Buddhist religious teachings,fostering pseudo-religious groups,and implanting the Japanese "Shinto religion" under theocracy.Fourthly,Fourthly,in response to the cultural colonization propaganda activities of the Japanese colonists,the Chinese people wrote and made up their opinions one after another,puncturing the false identity of the Japanese "Friendly saviors" and piercing through the false lies of "Manchuria is not Chinese",breaking the wishful thinking of Japan’s "East Asian Jihad".While exploring Japanese cultural colonization activities,this paper aims to expose the crimes of Japanese imperialism by using cultural means to infiltrate,invade and enslave China,and uses various theories to analyze how Japan carried out comprehensive and step-by-step cultural colonization of China,which has certain academic and historical value.The various cultural colonial acts of the Japanese aggressors presented in the paper let people remember that humiliating history,stimulate the Chinese people’s patriotism,and play a positive role in promoting the national consciousness of the Chinese nation.
