The application and implementation of geographic information grid service is the important core content of geographic information public service platform . So the content and service model of geographic information grid service is always the focus of our argument .Geographic information grid service is a profound revolution of geographic information management , technical systems, service mode. More important , it is the breakthrough of geographic data sharing and interoperability under the grid environment .According to the status and problems of spatial data sharing, the paper makes discussion, analysis, comparison and evaluation from all levels of spatial data sharing . In order to provide perfect spatial information services, we emphasize how to realize efficient, easy to understand and integrated service-oriented spatial data sharing by using all kinds of existing norms and technologies under the grid environment. Around the theme of " the key technologies of geographic information services under the grid environment "and the main features of GIS that is distributed, mass and temporal properties, the paper researches the key technology of geographic information service architecture , grid maps, spatial information search and information integration services under the grid environment.(1) The paper analyzes the application of geographic information sharing services , the basic theory and related technologies of service-oriented architecture and the basic concepts of information services .Then we summarized the basic principles and technical methods of geographic information integrated services.(2) Explore the framework of grid GIS. The Paper discuss the basic concepts and content of grid, spatial information grid (SIG), Grid GIS and the key supporting technologies and systems of relevant grid computing, Web Service, OpenGIS, Globus, WSRF esc.(3) In order to provide the basis for the selection of the post-integration model of geographic information services , we make a comprehensive analysis on the traditional service model of geographic data sharing , and objective evaluation on the merits and drawbacks of each model. Based on the existing geographic information service, the paper provides the design philosophy, architecture and client-side application form of service-oriented grid-based distributed geographic information, and describes the framework.(4) The paper explores the theory and method of data organization ofthe geographic information services platform under the grid environment. Finally, we provide theprinciples, methods, and encoding of the global geographic information Multi-griddivision.(5)The paper completes the designation and implementation of grid-basedgeographic information services through researching the distributed shared technologyof multi-source, heterogeneous mass of data under the grid environment.
