Highway landslide is a complex engineering geology problem, which's research for those mountainous and economically developed provinces like Zhejiang Province has extremely important economic and social significance. In this paper, Hongyan landslide on some highway of Zhejiang Province is studied. The use of survey, monitoring and simulation is going to study the factors, deformation mechanism and stability of Hongyan landslide. The main conclusions of this paper are as follows:(1) Through investigation and analysis, the internal factors of landslide include the natural steep, extremely fractured joints and high content of clay, poor mechanical properties, low shear strength, easily soften in the water of the potential sliding zone. Heavy rainfall, prolonged rainfall and the excavation of landslide's toe belong to the external factors.(2) Deep displacement monitoring can obtain the characteristics of the sliding zone of Hongyan landslide. The weathered bedrock is the marked surface of the sliding zone. The mixed composition in the bottom of the sliding body mainly includes loam with gravel and weathered crystal tuff. The loam with gravel is loose, high infiltrative and easily soften in the water. On the contrary, the weathered bedrock has good engineering properties and low permeability. The groundwater mainly flows down oriented along the bedrock. In the impact of groundwater, the sliding zone is so soften that the sliding body flows down oriented along the bedrock. The depth of the sliding zone gradually increases with the increase of mileage. And the depth of the sliding zone is shallow in the top and bottom region of landslide on the longitudinal section and is deep in the middle region.(3) Through comprehensive analysis of the landslide's stability derived from three methods for dynamic monitoring of deep displacement, limit equilibrium analysis and numerical simulation of finite element method, it can infer that reinforced measures of the landslide are effective, so that the stability is gradually increasing, it is going into a relatively stable condition and the bad impact on the highway is declining.
