In the recent years, with the improvement of the exploration technology, the accuracy requirement of exploration for colliery has become much higher, and exploring about 5m fault has been required by many coal mine。Mainly due to coal mining and tunneling process,the accidents such as roof collapse,water inrush,gas outbursts often associated with the small faults and small structures. Therefore, the research of the small faults and the small structures for coal mining is very meaningful. But the quality of seismic data collected in the field has a direct impact on the results of seismic data interpretation. A good field seismic data, after processing, can get high-quality seismic data interpretation to better identify more small structures, and improve the interpretation of coal structural precision and accuracy. Therefore, the actual seismic acquisition and processing, acquisition parameters and the choice of processing and geological factors for small faults recognition accuracy influence were ignored can't be ignored, but attention should be paid.The full-wave field geological model is established in this paper. The factors that affect the recognition of the small structure such as frequency, velocity error, lateral resolution, the free surface in the data collection process are discussed through the known seismic geological data and the simulation seismic geological structure, to find suitable parameter range, and be tested in the actual field seismic data acquisition process. Based on the conventional interpretation, and further through the body of variance, spectral decomposition, instantaneous phase, and other attributes comprehensive comparative analysis, the desired results are achieved for the resolution and interpretation of the small fault which are not be clearly solved in the conventional structure. So it is an useful exploration for the recognition of the coat small structure.
