Based on the core description and well-log analysis, the stratum sequence,the sediment facies type and the coal distribution rules in WuNiTe coal field were studied.The stratum of WuNiTe can be divided into: Q4,N2,K1b,P1gC,among of which the BaYanHua group has four parts:the upper interbed of sand and shale, the interbed of sand and conglomerate, coal bearing zone and the lower interbed of sand and shale. There are totally 13 layers of coal in this area, among of which 7 layers of the coal can be explored.Under the guide of the sequence stratigraphy, the lithology of the rocks, the logging curve and other materials were studied, and the two boundaries of the stratum SB1 and SB2 were identified, with which the stratum of this area can be divided into 3 three-level sequences: SMC1,SMC2 and SMC3.Through the sequence partition of single-well and the comparison of well tie, the framework of stratum sequence was established. The sedimentary facies of mere lakes, the neighbour lakes, the deltas and the rivers were identified, among of which the lake facies and the river facies were the primary sedimentary environment.According to analyses the core materials, the map of the coal thickness, the ratio map of the sand and mud and the framework of sequences, the palegeographic map was drawed. The primary sedimentary environment of this area was lake facies, and there were two rivers offer the settlings, which formed the lake facies B7-B11 coalbed and river facies A2-B6 coalbed. These maps and analyses provides the guide of the exploration of coal in WuNiTe coal field.
