Resistivity method is a electrical prospecting method to explore mineral and to solve geology problem, which is based on the conductivity differences of rock and mineral and is realized by observation and analysis the artificial source geoelectric field. The method is proof to be effective and play an important role in metal ore prospecting, non metal ore prospecting, tectonic study, hydrogeology survey, environment measurement and energy survey. The resistivity distributions in different formation are obtained by changing the array coefficients, then the valuable geology information is achieved through interpretation. The forward problem in electric method means to solve the electrical filed with the known electric model and source condition, and it is the foundation of inversion. In this paper, finite element method was used to simulate the two dimensional distribution of electric method based on the Helmholtz equation. The mixed boundary condition was used and the proved wave number parameters k and g were used to complete the inversed Fourier transform. The simulation was verified to be effective by lots of model test. The measured resistivity was simulated by simulating the change of electric potential difference U and array coefficient K. The more realized model was obtained by changing the forward model and comparing the results with other geophysical results. The effect of finite element method was proved through several two dimension electric model. Therefore, the electric model was built and the electric field was simulated with it. The simulation was the foundation of inversion and field work interpretation. The program was written in Matlab. The code described the two dimension geoelectic model with finite element method, with the principle of model simplification, algorithm optimization, and calculating time minimization. The ore zone electric model that fitted the actual condition was obtained through the model simulation. Key word: finite element method, resistivity method, two dimension geoelectric...
