The research of tectonic characteristics is the most important aspect of the geological research work, the studied area this paper involved is located in grams of tower case kirgiz region, Xinjiang, hoxud county, mainly for the northern basin, contains two subprime basin: chahantonggu basin and tower tower area lied in the western part of qomi assorted basin, this area is low hills district, altitude belonging to the basin areas vary from 800 to 1500 meters, altitude difference is no more than 100 meters, the slope angle within 3 to 13 degrees mostly; More than 60% of the area is desert covering area; The river system in this area is not development, most of them are intermittent rivers, artificially features are rare. the exposed geology of research area mainly contains the Devonian, Carboniferous, Jurassic, Tertiary and Quaternary. Magmatite are mainly the products of Hualixi period magmatic activity; For the tectonic part is one part of the Tianshan mountains geosyncline fold belt, for the wuwamen-baoertu big fault as the dividing line, the north part of the fault belongs to middle tianshan mountain anticline fold belt, to south of fault belongs to the south tianshan inclined fold belt. This paper is based on study programme'coal resources survey of the grams of tower case kirgiz region, Xinjiang , hoxud county'. According to the author's understanding and research of the characteristics and advantages of transient electromagnetic method in participating in the work involved in geophysical methods, together with the professional direction: engineering geological tectonic, determined the direction of research, this paper mainly using the transient electromagnetic method in combination with induced polarization method, it summarizes and analyzes the exploration achievement of the two methods, and collect the previous research results of research area, refer to the relevant books and literature, summarizing the tectonic features for the content, with transient electromagnetic method to study the basin tectonic characteristics, supply guides and reference for making research and exploration, the study of the tectonic characteristics and the use of transient electromagnetic method for similar area. This paper mainly from the following several aspects to carry out work:(1)Fully collecting the previous geologic and geophysical and geochemical research achievements of this area, comprehensive summing-up tectonic characteristics based on the materials.(2)According to the tectonic characteristics of the concluded, arrangement of exploration line, data collection, sorting.(3) Using relevant software to process data, mapping, inverting and interpreting.(4) According to previous research results, based on the results and the maps, draw the conclusion ,eventually concluded the validate of this method research.At the conclusion of previous research results and the work, and preliminary analyses and summarizes the structural characteristics of the basin. Understand the division of tectonic units and tectonic units that belongs of the study area and the adjacent regions, The basin types is the mountains sag, and conclude the basin formation is due to the yanshan movement, the crust is rising after denudation stage, until, when Himalayan movement, just appeared again foothills grinding stone and modern various pull of sediment accumulation, eventually led to the formation of kumishi and chahantonggu mountain sag. Understand zone fracture and tectonic development situation of the area.
