Leucine rich-repeat receptor-like kinases (LRR-RLK) is the largest sub-family of receptor-like protein kinase family. Many experiments show that many of this family are involved in the plants growth and development, such as regulation of tissue formation, organ development, self-incompatibility pollen, perception of plant pathogenic signal, intracellular signal transduction and stress responses. LRRVIII - 2 is a sub- family of the LRK family, which may play important roles in the development of Arabidopsis thaliana. In this study, we used bioinformatics method to analyze the coding sequence of the target gene and gene-specific sequence respectively, successfully constructed overexpression and RNAi vectors, and then obtained transgenic Arabidopsis plants. In the PATSRRK1:GUS transgenic seedlings, GUS staining assays showed that there is strong expression in shoot, but low expression in root. After the 6-BA treatments, the transgenic materials were no difference from the untreated group. However, transgenic lines were stained much lighter than the untreated group after treated by ABA. We also have gained the homozygotes of overexpression and RNAi transgenic plants of ATSRRK5. Chlorophyll content tests showed the chlorophyll contents in darkness: RNAi-ATSRRK5 and ATnap5010c > wild type > OV-ATSRRK5 and arr1,2.We speculate that the LRRVIII-2 sub-family may be involved in plant growth and signal transduction. But how they participate in the plant growth and signaling pathway requires further study.
