The Zhaokalong iron-copper polymetallic deposit is located in the famous Sanjiang metallogenic belt, has a long history of the exploration and prospecting. Based on the collection of relevant literature and data, combined with systematic field investigation, petrographic study and geochemical analysis, this paper studied the regional geological setting of the deposit and its geological conditions, discussed the ore sources and the type of the deposit. Furthermore, it summarized the mineralization law, established the mineralization model. The major achievements as follows:1. by collecting data and literature, analyzing the geochemical characteristics, it showed that the deposit is located in the Jiangda-Deqin island arc, which is in the northeast edge of the northern Qiangtang-Changdu landmass, and its regional geological setting is back-arc basin.2. through the revision of the geological map, it identified the new sequence relationship of mining stratum, and studied the structure system of the mine and the distribution of igneous rocks.3. through the geochemical characteristics of ore, it showed that the ore sources mainly from volcanic eruption, partly from the stratum, the main source of the ore rock is the crust, and ore-forming fluid is a mix of magmatic water, formation water and circulating seawater.4. combined with the geological conditions, it analyzed the genetic type of the deposit, and explored the mineralization centers and zoning characteristics. The Zhaokalong deposit is a SEDEX-reworked deposit.5. according to the analysis of the geological characteristics and genesis, it established a deposit metallogenic model of double vents, while the ore-forming process is divided into two times, which are deposition of volcanic sedimentary exhalation and transformation.
