Electromagnetic launch technology(EML) has taken launch science and technology into a new area. EML has the superiorities of higher launch speed, short accelerating time, easier controlling of release energy, compared to general launch technology. There is mechanic,electrical and thermal interaction in the launching process. The system affected by many factors. It is necessary and meaningful to research the work status of some component in the electromagnetic rail. The work status of the launch rail is an important factor which influencing the launching precision and the launching efficiency. The research of deformation and bending moment calculational method can provide the foundation to the stiffness and strength design of launch rail.The paper simplified the electromagnetic launch rail in working condition as elastic beam on foundation. By the method of model simplification solved the equation of electromagnetic density and magnetic force in the form of line, surface and volume current element and draw the corresponding cruves, also obtain the interaction force between the two rails. Then, by thermodynamics obtained the foece acted on the launch rail due to the thermal expansion generating by electrothermal. Apply initial parameter method, and get the deflection and moment equations and corresponding curve at three conditions of one end fixed other free. Two ends simply supported and one end free other fixed by calculating. draw the deformation and bending moment cruves of the launch rail. At the same time, making numerical analysis with the ANSYS software, and compared with the theoretical analysis.Through research we can see: the armature magnetic density and electro- magnetic force at three form of current model only differ in value, the same regular pattern; repulsion between the two rails is changing with the distance of armature, and the maximum of repulsion appeared in the end of the rail; the maximum of deflection in front of the armature. The factors that affect the deformation of the rail and bending moment in addition to external elastic foundation coefficient and the interaction force between the rails, and the armature force acting on the rail are not ignore.When design strength and stiffness of electromagnetic launch, the results of this study can be used as reference.
