The main reason of the decline in the success rate of geophysical exploration is oil exploration has come to the stage of the complex structure exploration and lithologic oil and gas exploration. In order to deal with the unfavorable circumstance, some new geophysical exploration technique arises at the historic moment. Reverse vertical seismic profile (RVSP), a new effective well recording geometry technology which develop from the vertical seismic profiles (VSP) technology, in actual production has been widely used. In this paper, we do many studies on the technology of inverse VSP numerical simulation, the wave equation reverse-time migration imaging and the seismic attribute analysis, then yields results.In the inverse VSP numerical forward modeling, we use higher-order finite difference method. Then using the high accurately numerical simulation of the isotropic medium elastic wave equation, we obtain the wave field snapshots and seismic records. Through the result of this study, we know the generation and propagation mechanism of longitudinal wave and shear wave, and the propagation mechanism of uplink wave downlink wave. All the studies can give guidance to recognize the reverse vertical seismic profiles in Actual production.Reverse time migration of reverse vertical seismic profiles including three parts: reverse VSP seismic record's time-reverse extension, calculating the imaging condition and applying the condition. This paper adopts cross-correlation imaging conditions and high-order accuracy finite difference scheme to the inverse of the wave field time-reverse extension. The result proves that the method is fully compliant with wave equation and applied for any complex geological model.Seismic attribute is used to describe the characteristics of seismic data and quantify a reference raw seismic data, which is a subset of the information contained in raw seismic data, and different seismic attribute reflects different geological information. Seismic attribute in hydrocarbon exploration and development plays an important role. Attribute optimization is the optimization of solving problem for the most sensitive, the most effective or the most representative of attributes. Reasonable optimization method can more clearly represent the different nature of underground medium.
