College nuclear physics experiment, as an important part of nuclear and particle physics course, aims to enhance experimental science, to improve the practical ability of students, to further develop the basic subject of physics, to train research talents in the field of nuclear science and technology, and to lay a solid foundation for the efficient use of nuclear energy and the development of low-carbon economy. This paper describes an experiment platform for college nuclear physics experiment based on reconfigurable platform technique: different experimental systems can be formed through the reconstruction and configuration of hardware and software, with which students can not only complete various experiments on the nuclear and particle physics course and learn some new methods and concepts of modern physics experiments, but also design their own experiments through the reconstruction of experiment platform.Through the analysis of the system requirements, characteristics and feasibility of college nuclear physics experiment platform, this paper presents design proposal for the hardware of college nuclear physics experiment platform with the digital technology and the FPGA logic reconfigurable technique; the bundled software which is developed based on LabWindows/CVI virtual instrument technique, can both guide the experiment under the designated process and develop new experiments. Using USB bus interface, the realization of host computer program and hardware communication is explained through the interface program. Finally, to meet the requirements of modern teaching management, the paper puts forward the establishment of server to realize a management system based on B/S / and C/S network model, so as to achieve the functions such as equipment monitoring, student management, experimental data preservation and experimental performance management.At present, the experimental platform has been able to excellently complete the functions of scaler, discriminator, waveform display, multi-channel analyzer and other necessary instruments for experiments, and achieve nuclear physics teaching experiments ofαsemiconductor detector and energy loss ofαparticle, X-ray absorption and the characteristic spectrum measurement, the current ionization chamber, long plastic scintillation counter and radionuclide half-life measurements etc, the performance of which has met or exceeded the original equipment performance index, with practical value of engineering applications. The main features of this paper are:(1) Make full use of digital technology and reconfigurable technology, to integrate the new measurement methods and means of current nuclear and particle physics experiments into the experimental platform, making the overall function of the platform perfect, instrumentation flexible, experiment greatly pertinent, and expansibility excellent with the new technology in the field of nuclear science.(2) Experiment platform can be connected to the server through the network, with which the instructor can guide students'experiments through the server, know the experimental process of each student and accept the experiment report form students;(3) Students can deploy experimental system on their own according to the requirements of experiment which helps students better understand the experiment and cultivate the innovation ability; using one experiment platform to perform different experiments, can greatly reduce the types and number of equipment and instruments, and decrease the construction and maintenance costs of the experiment platform;(4) The specifically designed software and hardware platform and its network for particle and nuclear physics experiments have not been reported across the country yet.
