The groundwater seepage simulation and the stability anaIysis of slopes were taking by using Geo-slopepackage on the basis of the research results and knowledge accumuIation of the formers in the presentpapeL The acive characteristics and laws of groundwater seepage of Gongchuan Landslide were studiedand discussed as a case study under the conditions of Gongchuan reservoir retaining and raining, and thestability was anaIyzed for Gongchuan Landslide under the reIative conditions. As a resuIt, thegroundwater seepage character and disaster laws of .bank slopes were presented. Come to the conclusionthat the effect of the reservoir retaining was rather great on the groundwater seepage and the stability factorof bank slopes, that the effect of raining was hardly dominate on the groundwater seepage of bank slopeswith poor permeability for water besides the, c1ear response to the higher groundwater tab1e after thereservoir retaining, that the effect of raining was dominate on the groundwater seepage character and thegroundwater distributing law of surface slopes which was one of the main factors to trigger the deformationand failure of surface slopes, that the groundwater seepage and distribution of slopes was rather related tothe permeability of rock and soiI, the initial condition of groundwater table, the geometrical shape of sIopes, the recl1arging and draining conditions, the rainfall and the elapsed-time, and that the groundwater seepageand distribution regime directly controlled the deformation characteristics and the disaster laws of slopes.
