Three isolates were obtained from dead chickens, Rabbits, and cattle in Tibet, respectively. On common nutrient agar, the colonies are smooth and damp. The bacteria are gram negative rods, or coccal rods in common medium. But they become to be long filamentous when they are in 6%, 8%, and 10% NaC1 broth. The phenotypic characteristics of these isolates are entirely identical. They are asaccharolytic, nitrate reduction negative, oxidase positive, obligatory aerobic, have the ability of mobility, and can utilize of Malonate, Citrate and Acetate. The phenotypic characteristics of these isolates are fundamentally identical with those of references strains of Alcaligenes faecalis AS1.1786 and AS1.767, so these isolates are preliminarily identified as Alcaligenes faecalis. Tow days later, the rabbits infected with these isolates showed bad appetite and status, but these clinical signs were gone the second day, the mice artificially infected these isolates showed no clinical signs.
