In this thesis, the application of fiber suspension and its research history are reviewed as well as its current research situations. The thesis also demonstrates in details the slender-body theory that is widely used under low Re number conditions.The major content of the thesis is to simulate the mechanical interaction between two contacting fibers according to the experimental results obtained by Petrich and Koch. The initial model doesn't accord with the experimental results well without an additional drag incorporated into it. The possible source of this added drag term has been illustrated in the thesis.After obtaining the numerical model which accord well with the experimental results, we change all kinds of parameters such as the initial situations of the settling fiber, the ratio of length and radius of the fiber, the fiber's density and the viscosity of the fluid, etc, in order to see their individual influence on the interacting procedure.At the end of the thesis, we incorporate the influences of all the four parameters-half- length L, radius R, viscosity of the fluid v and the density of the fiber/-into one compound parameter \A .
