The paper is focused on the high resolution study on Mesozoic strata of Beir Depression, Hailar Basin, based on sequence stratigraphy and sedimentary theory. With core, logging and seismic data, sequence stratigraphy frame is established, spatial distribution of sedimentary facies and sedimentary systems is studied. Moreover, combined with structural geology feature of Beir Depression, the reservoir growth feature of Nantun & Damoguaihe Formation and the group of oil source bed, reservoir, caprock are analyzed, the distribution of favourable sand body are predicted.Hailar Basin is a fault depression at the early forming stage, and becoming a depression at the end of Yimin stage. Controlled by the structural sedimentary setting, a set of strata from Palaeozoic to Quaternary has been deposited in Beir depression. Here, the studying interval from Tongbomiao Formation to Yimin Formation can be divided into 11 sequences. The main sedimentary system such as alluvial fan and fan-delta of Sq3 and Sq4 which is the main reservoir of Nantun Formation can be recognized. The dark mudstone deposited in this time is the favorable source rock. Lowstand fans and lowstand wedges formed in lowstand system tracts of Sq5 and Sq6 (that is Damoguaihe formation) and deep water turbidite fans deposed in late trangrassive system tract and early highstand system tract are the major reservoir with good physical characteristics. Mudstone deposited in deep water envoirment of Sq6-Sq8 is the better regional sealing bed. The deep lake turbidite regionally deposited in Sq6 - Sq8 with better feature. From the beginning of Sq9's development, the sedimentary environment turn to be lake basin bog. With water becoming shallow, coal seam appeared in lowstand system tract, delta plain and delta front are the main sedimentary bodies in highstand system tract. At the end of Sq9, sedimentary environment converted to fluvial facies from limnetic facies. On the basis of seismic sequence analysis, sedimentary facies analysis and sedimentary environmental analysis, the main sandstone distribution of each system tract is summarized. Compared C13 & O18 isotope analysis curve with lake level curve, further analyzed palaeoenvironment. On the basis of sequence frame, combined with growing characteristics and lithologic feature of Beir depression, stratigraphic sedimentary pattern of different evolution stage are obtained. The research shows that Beir depression characterized as several resources, thin facies, and more kinds of reservoir. The lowstand system tract of Nantun Formation is the principal target reservoir with best source rock and reservoir. The upper mudstone developed in transgressive system tract of Damoguaihe Formation is the important regional sealing bed, forming the best oil source bed, reservoir, caprock pattern. Comprehensively considered the premirary condition of forming reservoir, three promising zone were predicted.
