The Fankou lead zinc deposit, Guangdong, is a known giant deposit. It is located in the polymetallic metallogenetic belt in the southern China In the basis of production and scientific research, this papper integreted and analyzed the regional setting for the Fankou lead zinc deposit. Its metallogenetic evolution and metallogenetic controlling factors are summarized and elucidated systematically. Thereby, I suggested a model of the formation and evolution of ores in the Fankou lead zinc deposit, and a prognosis model for prospecting. All of these have greatly promoted the breakthrough in discovering blind ores under altitude -320m.This papper consists of five chapters. The main points of the papper could be summarized as the following.1. Emphasis was put on the metallogenic setting in the basis of regional geologic, geophysic and geochemical data.2. A redefination has been made on "the stratum, lithofacies and orientation" for metallogenetic controlling multi-factors. The bearing-ore formation has been found out, which is the Donggangling group of middle Devonian and the Tianziling group of upper Devonian. The lithofacies of impure carbonate were the optimistic lithofacies of metallogenetic richment. The geochemical field with high concentration and the strong deoxidation condition gestated ores with pyrite, lead, zinc and so on. Especially, the orientation and distribution for ores was severely controlled by structural position. The work suggested the synthetical metallogenetic model on polygenetic compound type, and the exploration model. Using the exploration model, we discovered blind ores under altitude -320m.3. A lot of geological and geochemical data about the Shiling district, and the Fankou deposit have been accumulated. This paper gives a summary review of the prospecting indictors, and ulteriorly discusses the metallogenetic condition. Besides the commonness of metallogenetic geological environment in whole Fankou deposit, the Shiling district displayes the more predominant metallogenetic condition, inculding secondary structures and thickness of the bearing ore formation.4. As the breakthrough in discovering blind ores, the foremost control about ores was the structures. The great blind ores displayes distribution in compounding position of or near F3 fault and F102 fault. Besides, the work also approves that the blind ores under altitude -320m is the northward outspread parts of the southern Shiling ores. In addition,this paper makes sure the types of ores, mineral components and varietes of metals. 5. It is suggested that there is the potential of further exploration in the Shiling district or whole Fankou deposit. Explorating difficulty is able to becoming more and more.
