The 56 examples, which were obtained in the summer sunshine day, were used in the paper. The examples were from relatively typical 9 stations, which were situated in the Tibetan Plateau and other areas. Using MODTRAN3 model and sounding data, as well as the observations of the meteorology stations, the solar direct radiation, diffuse radiation and net radiation were computed, and then the solar heating rate and infrared cooling rate on different level were calculated. In the course of the computation, the basic parameters of the atmosphere status of the examples, such as air density profile, temperature profile, relative humidity profile, were compared and further analyzed. The results were showed by means of data forms and curves, which reflect the basic status of the actual atmosphere clearly and detailedly. They reflected the difference between examples in different latitude and the atmosphere status under different geographical conditions. Also, they were favor for further explanations and canalization. The results of solar heating rate and infrared cooling rate and the model output were displayed as data forms and curves in the paper. The atmosphere status and the irradiance, as well as the curves of heating and cooling rate corresponded one to one in order to keep time consist. The result were analyzed and discussed in detail, and it truly reflected the status of solar heating rate and infrared cooling rate, as well as geographical difference. Some features of heating rate and cooling rate in different areas were investigated and analyzed.
