The implementation and application of the resonance analysis code SAMMY are concerned in this thesis. The SAMMY is a code system for multilevel R-matrix fits to neutron data using Bayes' equations, and contributed by Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). It has been widely used around the USA (ORNL, KAPL, LANL, TUNL...) and around the world (Belgium, Japan, France, Bulgaria, etc.). However, it was not used in China. The formulae of neutron resonance theory, as implemented in SAMMY, are used for generating theoretical values of cross sections from multilevel R-matrix theory. The method of solution is based on Bayes' theorem, used to find the best fit values of parameters and the associated covariance matrix. These are given in this paper. We have compiled and linked each segment of the SAMMY, and finally generated an executable file-sammy.exe. We did the all exercises, the results are correct. From the comparisons of the exercises results with the answers, it can be seen that the implementation is successful. Now, the code SAMMY can run on CNDC Alpha server 4000. Using the code SAMMY, we have evaluated the neutron resonance parameters of Thulium-169 on the basis of available experimental data.
