In this paper, on the basis of adopting geomechanics theory to analyze thestability of surrounding rock of tunnel, through numerical imitating test, thedistribution of tectonic stress field in engineering area is numerically simulatedwith nonlinear FEM and the conclusion is coherent to practice. With the increase oflateral pressure modulus, the magnitude of principal stress decreases and thedirection of it is hardly changeable; with the increase of the angle between thedirection of the maximal horizontal principal stress on magnitude and the faultbearing, the magnitude of principal stress increase and its direction can hardlychange; with the increase of the elastic modulus of rocks, the magnitude ofprincipal stress increases and the direction changes more; with the increase of pr,the magnitude of principal stress decreases and the direction changes more; withthe increase of lateral pressure modulus, the principal stress at hance, the tress attopmost arch, bottom arch and principal stress at lateral arch decreases, with theincrease of the depth of tunnel, the stress of surrounding rock also increases ,andthe poorer the quality of surrounding rock is, the little its principle stress is.
