Horizontal Directional Drilling technology is widely used in urban underground pipe laying engineering. And trace design is the key of the HDD construction. The Optimized bore trace not only reduces the engineering difficulty, upgrade progress, but also lowest the engineering cost.With the latest computer technology and Theory of Optimization, this paper makes a deep research in the HDD engineering trace optimization design. References existing achievements, takes drilling meters per hour as optimization object, divides the trace design into different phases with round every obstacle as a phase, and chooses status for every phase in reason, establishes the dynamic trace design optimization model; makes local optimization design from one status to next status, and deduces the local optimization function between two status; through coordinates transformation, simplifies three-dimensional trace design; at last, gives the solution method for the optimization model, and using the model resolves fact HDD engineering trace design.According to real HDD engineering, there makes a little modification to the trace design optimization model, takes Visual C++ as the software development tool, designs a set of HDD Software. The software realizes functions as follows: the HDD engineering construction drawing design-completion drawing dealt, record table fill, trace position search. It integrates the design, optimization, out-put drawing, and take advantages in good modularity, high calculation speed, easy and convenient to operation, good faulty -tolerant ability.Experiences shows, HDD Software can satisfy horizontal directional drilling engineering well, and it has a good prospect to be widely used.
