With the rapid development in personal communication technology, the microcells covering range is becoming smaller in order to accommodate more users with limited resource of frequency. In most of the instance in urban area, the antennas of the base- station are lower than the surrounding buildings, which makes the original propagation prediction models for macrocells can not be used any more. Accordingly ray tracing models for microcells propagation prediction has become an important subject. But for the complicated conditions of the urban areas, long calculation time is a difficulty to its practical usage. So we must find a applicable solution. Based on Image Theory and tube-tree method, a applicable solution-available virtual source tree method was presented in this paper. The definition of the available area of reflection source and the diffraction source make it efficient to find all propagation paths from transmitter to receiver. Furthermore, the receive point is added to the tree structure, which bring the computation more convenience and efficiency. In recent years, the management of radio frequency resources is getting more and more complex, which brings forward a high demand of radio wave management GIS system. The model of propagation prediction and frequency covering is one of the important part in this system. At present, the prediction model for macrocells has been integrated to most of the radio wave management GIS system, but the application of prediction for microcells is only few. This paper will discuss the problem about the incompatibility between the data format of standard GIS maps and the propagation prediction models. With the method we mentioned above, we calculate a simple case and compare the result with the practical measurement. After that we verify the validity of our method aimed at a scenarios in the Pudong Lujiazui area.
