The U. S Digital Globe Corporation successfully launched such QuickBird-2 satellite on October 18 in 2001. The panchromatic wave band surface of the earth resolution of that satellite is a 0.61m to the satelllite, and the multiplex spectrum ,is a 2.44m to the satellite. They are the commercial remote sensing data of the highest resolution in the world at present. The article did some researches as follows aimed at QuickBird's images.The article gave the analysis of the high resolution rate remote sensing image function in city programming, constructing and managing.Set to some municipality remote sensing image data of QuickBird, give the amalgamation and rectification for the image data and so on. Manufacture the remote sensing image map of the town .Built the database of the remote sensing image data, so can browse the remote sensing image of the whole city.Achieved the superposition between remote sensing image and original digital line graphics (DLG), give the thorough research of remote sensing image application in updating the geomorphologic map in town ,also researched in city three dimensions visual application.In short , the remote sensing image has become the most data pool of town geography space information , and the range of remote sensing application will extendlargely, even application depth and accuracy heightened enormously as the resolution of the remote sensing image enhanced gradually.
