Meso-scale severe convective storms,inclusive of hard rain,hail,tornado,heavy thunder shower and microburst etc,can make so great nature disaster that bring tremendous damage to national economy,, While at the same time.,their analysis and prediction are always difficult to meteorological operation work in a long-term.Now,the current research of meso-scale meteorology showed that severe convective storms are storng convective systems developed in special atmospheric environment.The main characteritics of ambient field about them are great potential instability and vertical wind shear.In this kind of environment,convective movement could develop enough and quasy-steady maintain period of long time, accordingly form the theaten to human beings . Consequently,foreign severe convective storms' prediction and alarm operator think a lot of the physical factor indicating the characteristic of ambient field,and make some good effect.In this paper,the CAPE is mainly discussed,rescently, which used widely in indicating the potential instability characteristic of severe convective storms' ambient field. Firstly, the resault of daily calculation about all kinds of potential instability parameter in a month show that ,as a vertical integral potential instability parameter,CAPE's daily variation corresponded to the severe convective storms' occurrence. Secendly, following the development of computer technology and meso-scale numerical model increasingly,the calculation of CAPE could improve to more correspond with the actual atmosphere course. Through using the data of numerical simulation by MM5 model, and introducing density temperature , CAPE's calculation accroding to the reversible saturated moist adiabatic process which correspond with the actual atmosphere course more was emphatically discussed .Thirdly, based on this, the DCAPE is introduced farther.DCAPE has close relationship with convective downdraft and convective storms development.Fourthly, the using of hourly model-generated soundings is introduced in this paper. Finally,the SRH, EHI,BRN and SBRN ,SSIetc severe convective storm parameters are introuced. The case study during "03.7" Meiyu period showed that all the parameters are effective for prediction of the severe storm's occurrence and development, and have a worth of extending in our actual prediction work.
