This thesis presents the FDTD applications in the electromagnetic simulation of waveguide structures. Firstly, based on the FDTD theory, the model of the excitation space for waveguide structures is developed. Simultaneously, the accuracy of the model is described by various absorbing boundary conditions. Then, the computer programs for some discontinuous structures of the rectangular waveguide are developed using MATLAB. So, the S-parameters of the equivalent two-port networks of these discontinuous structures are obtained under the condition of main mode operation. Finally, the basic principle of longitudinal slots in waveguides is studied. And the characteristics of longitudinal slots on broad walls of the rectangular and single-ridged waveguides are analyzed.
