Research On Feminism Philosophy Of Science

Feminism intervened the science field at the end of 1960s or the beginning of 1970s. It opened a new cultural perspective with its unique way of concerning gender. From the different aspect, the Feminist criticized the main stream of science deeply, exposed sexist and androcentric bias of the main stream of science. Furthermore, it established the system of the feminist science.The paper mainly sets about from the epistemology level of the feminism's science criticism, respectively arranges, researches, and analyzes three representative epistemology approaches that the feminist empiricism, the feminist standpoint theory, and the feminist postmodernism. At the same time, it puts three epistemology approaches in the discussion of modernism and postmodernism under the macroscopic background of anti-main stream culture, analyzes not only the similarities and differences of the feminist epistemology and traditional epistemology and postmodernist theory, but the features and limitations of the three approaches respectively. Then it tries giving us a rough sketch of the feminist epistemology and makes us understand more about the feminism philosophy of science.
