Chuxiong basin is a reformed basin, which formed in Jurassic period and terminated in early tertiary. By analyzing the regional structural setting and the features of the geology and geophysics and by collecting and researching the correlative documents about magmation and hydrothermal metallization in Chuxiong basin and its neighboring area, this paper further researches Chuxiong basin' s structural features and its tectonic evolution, discusses the basin and its neighboring area' s magmatiion and hydrothermalism. The main results in this study are following: 1) The faults in the basin are frequent and various and their features are obvious; they can be divided into three main systems according their strikes. 2) Chuxiong basin can be divided into four tectonic units and show a tectonic framework with two upheavals and two depressions in whole. 3) The magmation in Chuxiong basin and its neighboring area mainly occur in Cenozoic era, with the feature of multi-stage. 4) Many blind magmatic rock bodies and weak areas of textural anomaly are existed in the deep-seated underground of the basin. The deep-seated texture of the basin is complicated. 5) The feature of the metallization of Chuxiong basin and its neighboring area is obvious. Metallization mainly occur in Meso-Cenozoic. 6) Chuxiong basin' s formation and evolution can be divided into three obvious stages.
