This thesis is based on the geological surveying project of the Xingjiang Uigur Municipality, which is 'the 1:50000 district geological and mineral surveying project of Saridala strip in southern margin of Changji, Xingjiang' .And mainly applies GIS to forecast gold resources of the east Jiaerbake-Jiaoerte Map part of Saridala (East longitude 87 00' ~ 87 15' , North latitude43 00' -43 10' ) .synthetically analyzes gold metallogenic geological setting, mineralizing characters, ore-control factors and metallogenic law, appraises and predicts gold ore-prospecting prospective domain, brings forward ore-search directions. In addition, the thesis explores and generalizes methods and working flow of mineral resources assessment based on GIS.First, the thesis designs a whole geo-spatial data bank. Generally, it involves in fundamental information preparation, writing standards, graph layer division, graph digitizing, collection of attribute data, edition, topological treatment, pretreatment, incorporation of attribute data and the final establishment. After setting up the bank, it involves in linking graph data with attribute data, spatial analysis, establishing the appraisal model of gold resources. Subsequently,the thesis fulfills an ore deposit location assessment by correctly applying mathematical models and numerical methods, and bring forward assessment outcome and work suggestion.The model of the thesis ' s forecasting method is synthetical use of experience model method and mine-reserach information adding power model method of mineral resources assessment based on GIS. It use several kinds of analysis means for multi-sources data. Firstly the gold-research prospective domains of this area are forecasted through the spatial query and ana-lysis by means of GIS,based on geological and mineral information of thearea, synthesizing geochemistry anomaly information. Gridding inserting value transforms geochemistry data of sampling point of the south of Acixiarega from scattering data to grid data by means of the development of Delphi and Mapobjects, using distance reciprocal inserting value method. After deposit orientation analyse and spatial overlapping analysis by means of CIS, the gold-research prospective domains of the area are forecasted. Through these forecasting analysis, the favorable gold-research domains of the map area are delineated.Assessment results indicate that the gold-research prospective domains of this area include the east of Mengkusala , the west of Acixiarega and the northeast of Saertuosi.It is further indicated by the fusion of various geo-factors that the first and the second are both the join areas of Bingdaban ductile shear zone and it ' s north-east direction sub-faultages. From the point of this view, it indicates that the ductile shear zone of the investigation section is the important ore-control factor.
