A Study & Application About Data Interface Of GIS

With the speedy development and the gradual popularization of GIS in china, The jobs about data loading, data maintenance, data updating in many of GIS system urgent require applied software and feasible scheme, which are in order to ensure data veracity, data dependability, data accuracy. This paper aims at this real requirement. Combining CHe system, which is a kind of digital mapping software, that Shenzhen Investigation & Research Institute develops from bottom and possesses independent copyright, the author researchs data interface between digital mapping system and GIS.This paper first probes the discrepancy of data format among different GIS software from GIS data modeling, summarizes some methods of GIS data sharing, point out some data problems in developing GIS in our country, and then discusses some methods of spatial data quality control from data exchange. On the basis of the former discussion, Take example for CHe system, the paper analyzes its data file character, compares data model & data organization of GIS software and particularize basic theory & methods of data interface between digital mapping system and GIS in sort & coding, spatial data delamination, the building of coding & conversion comparison table, the corresponding relation between graphic datum and attribute datum etc.This paper describes mainly data interface between CHe system and MapInfo, ArcInfo, MicroStation. On interface between CHe and Maplnfo, I first analysis Mif/Mid file format, combining data delamination & coding which a Land & Resource bureau built Maplnfo GIS system, adopts initialization configuration files, realize data interface between it and Maplnfo. On interface between CHe system and Arclnfo, combing Arclnfo open universal data file forrnat-Shapefile, apply MapObjects Component, I complete their conversion each other. On interface between CHe system and MicroStation, expound firstly DGN design file data formats, point out deficiency and difficulty in a way of direct data interface between CHe system and MicroStation, and then design an ASCII middle file. Combing expermintental data which a Surveying & Mapping Institute provide, I realize data interface between it and MicroStationV8.Finally, the author develops a data conversion & interface module using Delphi and universal second developing language-VBA. Experimental results show its validity and more explain feasibility of CHe system as a data collection tool for GIS.
