A brief review of the circulation features, the history and the current research situation of the Bohai Sea, the Yellow Sea and the East China Sea is made firstly in this article. Then the POM numerical model is introduced. In the third part of this paper, the Nudging assimilation is used to simulate the three-dimensional temperature field of the Bohai Sea, the Yellow Sea and the East China Sea to reduce the error of using heat flux as the upper boundary condition with the use of the high resolution satellite remote sensing data SST on the basis of POM. The result shows that the simulated current field can reflect the circulation characteristics of the Bohai Sea, the Yellow Sea and the East China Sea satisfactorily. The temperature field after data assimilation is better than that without data assimilation. The RMS between the assimilation data and the observed data of the three stations selected are 1.3073, 0.5261, 0.7440 respectively, while the RMS between the temperature simulated by heat flux and the observed data are 1.5560, 0.8792, 1.2301 respectively . Data assimilation affects the three dimensional temperature field although we only assimilate the sea surface temperature. The mixinglayer depth simulated and assimilated are both shallower than the mixing layer depth observed in situ.
