Geographical information system is a database which transacts and analyzes spatial data. This computer technical system is established for geographical research and decision services, which can stores, manages, manipulates , analyzes, simulates and displays spatial data, uses geographical models and spatial analysis methods, offers multiform spatial and dynamic geographical information. Since 1970s, GIS has developed quickly in its own way .And spatial analysis, said to be a key content of GIScience, takes the emphasis from many scientists. With the perspective of integrating GIS and spatial analysis software, the article researches the data model of GIS , the attribute of spatial data , the formal expression of spatial effects, exploratory spatial data analysis and confirmatory spatial data analysis, offers the framework of integration GIS and spatial analysis through modular techniques in object-oriented software development environment, ends with a case study to reveal the functions of the integrated system. This thesis is divided into 5 chapters. In the first chapter ,the history of GIS is reviewed and the progress for GIS to GIScience is discussed briefly to show that spatial analysis is important to augment the understanding , analysis and application of geographic information .Then the rise and development of spatial analysis are discussed .Because the research region of generalized spatial analysis is too wide, this article specializes in spatial statistics and spatial econometrics. The research results of integration of GIS and spatial analysis are also discussed. In chapter 2, the computation system of spatial analysis is reviewed. Firstly, it is realized the data model of GIS mainly consists of two classes, data model based on topology relationships and another one oriented entity. The advantage and disadvantage of two data model are reported. Then the attribute of spatial data is discussed .The most important difference between spatial data and common data is spatial effects, representing as spatial dependence and spatial hetero-skedasticity. Finally, the computation technique and model of spatial analysis, which consists of exploratory spatial data analysis and confirmatory spatial data analysis, are reviewed. In chapter 3, through the standard flow of modern software development process which include functional and non-functional requirement analysis, system structure analysis and data structure analysis, the implement of the integration of GIS and spatial analysis software are discussed. It is bring forwarded that integration GIS and spatial analysis through modular techniques in object-oriented softwaredevelopment environment. Choropleth map, box map, Moran scatterplot are used to visualize the result of spatial analysis. confirmatory spatial data analysis exports reports and multi-windows dynamic link is convenient for comparing the different view windows of the analysis result. The chapter 4, which contains a case study of this system, using the spatial database from professor Anselin L's book "Spatial econometrics". This study reveals the functions offered by the integrated system, including map, box map, Moran scatterplot table view multi-windows dynamic link and confirmatory spatial data analysis report. The full conclusion and discussion are presented in the chapter 5.
