Located in the south of Yidun-Zhongdian island arc belt which is a concentrated zone of nonferrous and rare metals in the middle-north of the Sanjiang tectonic belt, Southwestern China, the units—Xiangcheng, Daocheng and Derong County, Western Sichuan, experienced an evolution history including subduction orogeny of oceanic crust, collision orogeny and intra-continental orogeny since Indosinain. Every time, the tectonism produced its own tectonic-magmatic activities, and mineralization. In addition, the area is in contiguity with the famous Xuejiping-Pulang porphyry copper belt and Yangla porphyry-skarn copper belt ;n Yunan province. It's well known that porphyry copper deposits are always distributed in a group zone. So, according to metallogeny, it will be very prospective to perambulate porphyry copper deposits in the region.A series of work have been done, including analysis of geological, geophysical, geochemical and remote-sensing information, outdoor inspection of abnormities, studying on important deposits (ore spot), contrasting with typical deposits and generalizing regional metallogenic regularity etc. Finally, the paper put up a series of oresearch promising areas.The information reflected by geology, geophysics, geochemistry and remote-sensiag image shows that the area is a prospective region for exploration of porphyry copper deposits ? The data of geochemistry had been deal with by means of ration technology .The relationship between Cu, Au, Pb and Zn is very close in the result. And they are all controlled by regional faults, located in the junction of tectonic units. And their positions are identical with the distribution of porphyry and lower intrusion of granites. Thus, according to macroscropical evidences, the Xuejiping-Pulang porphyry copper belt has the possibility of northward extension.Zhujiding copper deposit and Hongzhuo copper ore spot have been found in this exploration, and there are very good copper mineralization.
