As the deepening and popularization of the research and application of WebGIS (WWW Geographical Information System), the traditional method to realize WebGIS simply adopted network has hadn't fit for the development of WebGIS, because it is difficult to share and interoperate the spatial data, and there exists contradiction between distributing property and system structure of WebGIS. Currently WebGIS has become one of the primary research directions in GIS. It is an efficient approach for the socialization of GIS and one of the key platforms of the "Digital Earth" construction. So it is important to research the structure and realization of WebGIS platform which isinteroperable, transplantable, expansible and fit for various platforms.This thesis analyzed WebGIS platform now exist and the theory of realizing WebGIS platform using distributed calculating technique, designed a J2EE-based distributed WebGIS platform system using enterprise calculating frame J2EE, mostly the related design and primary realization technology about the whole WebGIS platform system.Final product is an environment protecting information service platform of WebGIS based on ArcIMS and all above theory.
