With the reformation of technology and concept, map plays a increasing role in our daily life, and the invention of electronic map meet more demands. Electronic map not only covers the function of common map, but also present information on computer in figures. This article, based on the research and references home and abroad, makes a further study from both theoretical and practical perspective.1). The purpose and significance of traffic electrical map, and introducing the present situation and development of the world electrical map.2). The further discussion of the theory of electronic map, and making a conclusion of design principles and the basic technology of the electronic map.3). The disclosure of the shortage of the traditional geographical data model in nature, and the advantage of establishing object-oriented geographical data model is brought forward, and describing the major data structure and operational methods by adopting the C++ Builder program.4). The design of operational method based on map corpus. This method is helpful in solving the problem of slow speed, and can also change into different position by way of various proportions.5). The detailed explanation of the notion of the electronic map's multi-scale representation, and its research situation. This system shorten the time of calculating, and can present the details by means of proportion, relevance, significance, length, and acreage.6). The problems in WinGIS system, and in other map tools. This technology aims to use geographical information to cut down map actively. This plays an important role in the construction of Shaanxi expressway system.7). In practice, this technology develops Shaanxi electronic expressway map system, and provides further application in electronic map technology and theory.
