Groundwater is a valuable naturalresurce. And it is a important factor of environment. Population, resource, and environment being the three major problems that nowadays world is confronting, are directly or indirectly relevant with groundwater. With the increase of population, the development of the urban size, industry and agriculture, the scale of groundwater development and utilization become more and more bigger. And a series of geologic hazards and environmental geologic problems such as water quality worsening, regional groundwater table fall, collapse and so on, have imperilled human being's life .So it can be said that for human being exact evaluation of groundwater resource is the premise and base of scientific management and rational utilizing groundwater.Jianghan plain, located in the middle-south of Hubei province. Its ground water resources degree of development and utilization are high. The primary exploitation layers are the upside pore confined aquifer and the underpart cranny and pore confined aquifer. With the rapidly development of urbanization and economic,the water consumption is increasing.That have coused the local ground water table decent.In someplace,the excessive exploitation have induced the groundwater table fall and collapse.In this thesis, the geological and hydrogeological conditions of the area are systematically analyzed, and from top to bottom the primary aquafers are divided into three layers in order: the shallow layer pore phreatic aquifer, the upside pore confined aquifer and the underpart cranny and pore confined aquifer. Based on fact borehole data, the concept model of research zone is presented. Then the isoparametric finite-difference three-dimensional transient groundwater numerical model is presented. GMS, the most popular standard visualization soft that are package on simulating the groundwater flow is used to simulate and calibrate the groundwater level and quantity of the research area. At last , the produced quantity and the changes of the hydraulic head under the optimize exploitation scheme in the future were predicted according to the tested parameter and the modified model.This model reveals the characteristics of the system of the groundwater, reflect the pattern of change and transportation of groundwater, and it can give scientific support to the prediction of groundwater table, evaluation of resources in Jianghan plain.
