The Shan'xi Lantian jade is one of the most famous jades in China , whichcomes from Lantian County of Shan'xi province . Lantian jade has been studied byusing infrared spectroscopy , cathodoluminescence microscope and electronmicroprobe.et. The result shows that Calcite and Serpentine are the dorminantminerals , Dolomite,Tremolite,Forsterite and Diopside.et are the secondary minerals .The Shan'xi Lantian jade deposit lies in Lantian County , which occurs in marblezones of the Middle Proterozoic Kuanping Group , regionally belonging to theCalidonian folded zones of the Qinling folded system and across over theZhifang--Yongfeng and Taibai--Shangxian folds. The Shan'xi Lantian jade composedmainly of serpentinized and epidotization marble. It was formed by regional andcontact metamorphism. The Lantian Jade is denominated serpentinized and epidotizeddolomite-quartz marble.In addition, this article introduces the firm contact with chinapeople which jade keeps in the fields of daily life and political culture as well as thelong history and the abundant jade cultural connotation which follows it. This articlealso studies the social economic value of the Lantian jade.
