The Coupling Of Southwest Sag Of Tarim Basin And West Kunlun Orogen

Southwest sag of Tarim Basin has apparently dissymmetrical structure.Itsevolution relates to West Kunlun orogen.It is a compound foreland basin frommulti-stage and multi-type basins.This paper is complished with the theories of basin and orogencoupling,structural geology,cycle stratigraphy and petroleum geology and the methodsof geological survey and analysis, geophysical measurements and chemistry analysis& test etc.Based on the 1:100000 geological survey materials of Southwest Tarim andsupported by six typical geologic sections(which are Hetian-Buya geologic section,Duwa river geologic section, Sangzhu river geologic section, Yecheng-Kudi geologicsection, Yecheng-Tashikuergan geologic section and Kashi-Tashikuergan geologicsection),specimens testing and other`s findings, the paper systematically studied theoriginal relationship between Southwest sag of the Tarim Basin and West Kunlunorogen. It is confirmed that West Kunlun orogen, Southwest sag of the Tarim Basinand Bachu uplift are an integer in three dimensions. Southwest sag of the Tarim Basinis belong to flexible basin,its flexure and subsidence relates to the loading of WestKunlun orogen's rising and thrusting.Under the methods of combining with structuralanalysis and filling history analysis,the paper also got the tectonic sequences,sedimentation systems and their temporal evolution.The paper also studied the controlof West Kunlun orogen orogenetic process to Southwest sag of the Tarim Basin'sformation and development,and the response of Southwest sag of the Tarim Basin tothe West Kunlun orogen orogenetic process.According to the stratigraphic signaturesto thrusting in West Kunlun orogen, it recovered the evolution of West Kunlunorogen.Through the evaluation of source rock,reservoir and cap rock,the paperrepresented the oil-gas geological character and the accumulating background ofSouthwest sag of the Tarim Basin.
