In order to achieve green mining and the societal sustainable development, China must keep the harmonious development between resources and environment control. This paper investigated geological and geochemical characters of three ore deposits, and picked up 16 geological factors from these geological and geochemical information, which include "types of deposits, scale of deposits, regional geology, topography and relief, diggings structure, wall rock character, wall rock alteration, mineral characters, element characters, soil characters, hydrological condition, weather character, mining ways, ore prosess, ore production, mining wastage". To assess the effects of each factor, we weight and classify all of these factors based on their effects to the environment. Finally, the quality of the deposit environment is expressed by the result of weight by classification. This method does not only provide a new method of estimating deposit environment, but also take full advantage of the existing deposit geological information and save large expenditure which must be paid to estimate deposit environment. It is quit of importance to forecast and avoid or reduce environment problem derived by exploration mine resource in our country.To evaluate the established method, the author investigated HeBei Caijiaying Pb and Zn deposit, FuJian Fengyan Pb and Zn deposit, Tonglushan Cu deposit and assessed its environment quality by this method and attained the conclusion of the deposits environment indexes. From the investigation, we conclude that deposit geological factors can greatly control the deposit environment. We geologists can play an important role in understanding the problem of deposits and mining environment.To manage the information of the deposit environment and assess the environmental effects of each factor, the author developed the deposits environmental information assess system, also established the environmental information data of the three deposits.The paper provide idea and software base to assess the environmental effects of the deposits all over the country.
