The compound hydrocyclone is a new machine. It separates different immiscible liquidsdepending on centrifugal force which strong vortex in hydrocyclone forms. Libration isineluctable when the compound hydrocyclone is working. So the research of its numericalsimulation considering libration is necessary.Recently, numerical simulation of coupling field ispossible because of the fast development and extensive uses of CFD, and then more and morescholars have regarded using CFD to simulate coupling flow field of hydrocyclone.On the basis of libration testing and experiment study of separation character onhydrocyclone, the article upbuilded mathematic coupling model.by amelioration of Modelnamed RNG k-ε. The article firstly simulates the interior flow field of compound hydrocycloneusing on control volume method, Non-Equilibrum wall Function and User-Defined Functions inFLUENT. Distributing characteristic of velocity, pressure, kinetic energy and dissipation rate ofturbulence in internal flow field of hydrocyclone were gained by numerical computation.At the same time, we attained velocity field by testing static separated segment forchecking up the result of numerical simulation. By comparing experiment data and result ofnumerical simulation, it can be found that the comparing tangential velocity result of numericalsimulation and experiment measure is basicly identical in outer freedom. The numericalsimulation results of axial velocity and the result of numerical simulation are very approach..The two results show mathematical model and computing methods adopting in this article andprove the correctness of mathematical model and computing method.The mathematical model and computing method can accurately forecast the internal flowfield of compound hydrocyclone, which provides theory basic and experience for the study tocompound hydrocyclone such as separation mechanism, flow field characteristic and structureoptimization design.
