In this paper, by using NCEP 1° × 1° global Final Analysis Data, the characteristics of the strong wind field in Fujian maritime space effected by the typhoon was studied through classifying twenty-one westward typhoons of 2000—2005.Further, the "0313" and "0513" typhoons are simulated by MM5 V3.6.3 system with different schemes designed by changing terrain and adding Bogus TC. The stream fields and geospotential height were compared in these different scheme, the distribution of the wind field was studied too.The result shows that two main effects of the Central Mountain Range to the stream of typhoon are block and split. The impressed depression caused by block adjusts the mesoscale pressure field, the dense barometric gradient zone distribute in North Fujian and North Taiwan Strait and caused the wind stronger in these area. On the other hand, the canalization of Taiwan Strait strengthen the wind in these area. Experiments of changing terrain show that the heightened terrain is propitious to impressed depression and enhances canalization of Taiwan Strait. The widened Taiwan Strait weakens canalization. The lengthen the Central Mountain Range can cause flaky low depress area. Simulation of different intensity of typhoon shows that the stronger wind causes stronger impressed depression. Experiments of the different relative location of typhoon and Central Mountain Range show that the wind is most propitious to cause the terrain depression when the wind approximatively upright with Central Mountain Range.Finally, classified by the relative location of the center of typhoon and Central Mountain Range, there are six styles of characteristics of the strong wind field in Fujian maritime space affected by westward typhoon of West Pacific Ocean.
