In recent years, with the fast development of economic and social, the nature system conditions of Chaohu basin become much worse, and the water resources situation has a doomy future, whtch becomes the bottleneck of Chaohu basin economic anc social development, and makes this area can not form comfortable condition to live in and (?)an not form health and safely climate to invest capital in. Its bad effect seriously restr(?)ts the sustainable development of economy and society in this basin. Optimal allocation, effective (?)sing and protectiod of water resources are the prerequisite and guarantee of basin economic and social development and modernization construction. Basin flood and drought control, regional water resources management, water protection of the environment, water conservancy and hydropower projects construction etc., all need to understand and master hydrology circulating law and its variation. However, grasp and the understanding of hydrology circulating law and its variation condition are establishment in analysis hydrological time series on the foundation of observation information. Carry out hydrological time series analysis is the key of problem, and the analysis of hydrological time series aberrance point and variability is the most important aspect. This paper combined the related series analysis, R/S method of fractal theory and diversity information in grey system theory to carry out preliminary discussion of aberrance point analysis of hydrological time series using the hydrological data of actual measurement of Chaohu basin, in order to offer hydrology basis for the basin water security management.
