Ggroundwater is an important component of the entire water resourceand a crucial factor of the ecological environment. In recent decades, as therapid development of the economic and the society of China, the requirementof water resource, and therefore the groundwater, has dramatically increasedand resulted in a series of ecological problems. In the later part of the previouscentury the usage of water resource in the extensive exploitation to themidstream of Heihe, the second largest inland river are in the west north partof China, was not reasonable, the distribution between the upstream anddownstream was unbalanced, the economic usage superseded the living usage, all those caused the trail lake in the downstream disappeared, plants dried on alarge scale, the extensiveness and frequency of the sand storm unceasinglystepped up and finally fatally deteriorated the entire ecological system. For the rational scheduling and centrally management of the waterresource in Heihe basin, this paper presented a numeric simulative model ofthe groundwater for Heihe river which has been integrated into the schedulingsystem of Heihe. As to the train of thought of this paper, a model of hydrologyand geography concepts was established first based on the systematic analystof natural geography and hydrology conditions;and then the data structureand model data was designed and prepared according the requirement after thesummarizing of all sources of groundwater as different components;in the endthe numeric model of groundwater was constructed. According to the design, the numeric model with the limited differentiation was established, authorizedand verified. Basing on the groundwater model and the analyzing ofecological features in the downstream, plants in the downstream has beenclassified to four categories, and the simulative ecological model wasconstructed in the view of the coverage of plants for the study of dynamicalecological changes following changes of the water resource. In this paper, themodel of groundwater and the model of ecology have been introduced to thescheduling and the management of water resource. Those two models are ableto forecast the trend of the variation of the underground system, the quantityof water resource and the coverage of plants as conditions of the upstream anddownstream are given. Hence, they can be used as the conceptual basis anddirection to the decision of a scheduling schema for water usage. The main works include:design of recharge item and discharge item suchas river, spring, channel in model;design of recharge time-lag of recharge item;forecast the amount of groundwater under condition of annual average runoff;vegetation cover rate and vegetation cover area changed with the change ofhead of groundwater. The numeric simulative model of groundwater and the ecological modelbased on model of groundwater can simulate the practical situation andreflects character and dynamic law of groundwater system in Heihe riverbasin and provides consult for Water Scheduling Management in Heihe riverbasin.
