The article, applicating the theory and technological method of sequence stratigraphy and sedimentology, combining with geology, core, log and seimic data, has studied sequence stratigraphy and sedimentary facies in the S4-S3 member of the western slope of Damintun. The author thinked first flooding surface corresponds to oil shale and parallelism grail superface, which is boundary of lowstand systems tract and transgressive systems tract, maximum flooding surface corresponds to thick dead color mudstone superface, which is bound of transgressive systems tract and highstand systems tract. After suring the project of stratigraphy division, the artical has proceed to compartmentalize sequence and build up sequence stratigraphy frame. On the basis of sequence study, combining with the studied effort of sedimentary facies type, the article studied sedimentary facies and sand distrbution law in the S4—S3 sequence frame. In the lowstand systems tract the main sedimentary facies are fan-delta front and anoxic lake. The fan-delta front allocates near the boundery fault of western. The anoxic lake allocates in sag. In the transgressive systems tract, The main sedimentary facies is half-deep lake and deep lake. In the lower part of highstand systems tract, the main sedimentary facies is delta front. In the higher part of highstand systems tract, the main sedimentary facies are alluvial fan and flood plain. The alluvial fan neighbor provenance source, which sediment is main glutenite. The flood plain far away from provenance source, which sediment is main mud.
