Geomorphology is one of the most predominant factors of natural region synthesizes. It directly influences and even decides the characteristics of other factors. Loess geomorphology belongs to one of typical landforms. In the world, China has the largest area of loess, the most thickness of loess layer, and almost all kinds of typical loess landforms. The loess plateau located in northern Shaanxi province is the most important component of the loess landforms in China, which possesses almost all kinds of loess hills and plateaus. Though we can find a great deal of literatures about classification of loess geomorphology, up to now, the uniform classification system of loess geomorphology in China has not been established and published. Digital loess geomorphology is focused on integrating all kinds of loess geomorphological information in digital database and is more suitable for data processing, integrating, refreshing and spatial analysis compared to traditional paper maps.Because of serious soil erosion and fragile environment in loess plateau in northern Shaanxi province, it is very important to study geomorphologic characteristics of this region for ecological restoration and environment protection. Above all, how to integrate digital loess geomorphological information based on geography information system and remote sensing techniques is very important for digital geomorphological mapping. In this paper, loess plateau located in northern Shaanxi province was my research site. A few principles such as morphology, genetic, geological tectonic...
