Geology disaster affects people's production and life and to the society resulted in huge economy lose, so it is necessary to investigate, analysis, forecast and prevent it The paper expounds the theory and the method of investigating disaster such as dilapidation, landslide, mud-rock flow in Taiyuan xishan coal district. Using the method of investigating in the field, analyzing remote sensing data and interpretating images acquires abundant information of geography, formation lithology and the geology structure. Using ERDSA to process images to get the distribution and the, degree of different geologic disasters and appraise geologic environmentThe paper appraises the main disasters of the district and gives material ideas about various disaster and analysis the latent reason of occurring heavy disaster and developing tide of geologic environment in the area in future.
