The thesis studied two methods of unstructured grid generation. One method was unstructured grid transformed from structured grid, which was created by numerically solving the elliptic partial differential equation. Computing the governing heat conduction equation over such an unstructured grid had many advantages in many aspects of steady character; convergence and precision. The other was the secondary development with commercial software GAMBIT, namely we used the database of GAMBIT efficiently to regenerate unstructured mesh. This two kind of mesh generation technologies not only had the virtue of facility, shortcut and flexility, but also many grid shapes could be created, so that more time was saved.Steady heat conduction differential equation was discretized on three-dimension unstructured grid using finite volume method (FVM) mainly. Several heat conduction examples were researched in different boundary conditions. A comparison of numerical results and exact results had been shown to prove the quality of mesh and correctness, and the solution was discussed and analyzed.Finally, temperature changing and scatter status of crib cooler were dealt with. The result was essentially the same as those obtained using the commercial software ANSYS, which offered the reference value for engineer application.
