Landscape ecology is a jumped-up interdisciplinary. The research of landscape space pattern is basic content of landscape ecology, and is inevitable procreant research field during theoretical investigation to practical application of landscape ecology. By analyzing, judging, estimating and synthesizing space pattern character of landscape patch of region, we can scheme out landscape function partition and landscape pattern assorting with region natural conditions and development of economic and social affairs, and bring forward approaches and measures to optimize landscape system. The research of landscape space pattern is the focus issue.Nanjing is the capital of Jiangsu province, as one of economic development regions most quickly, is one of megalopolis of the Yangtze Delta of China. With economic development, population growth, the gradual enhancement of urbanization, expand of built-up area and increase rebuild of old city, the pattern and function of landscape change quickly. The sustainable development of region is restricted. The optimizing space pattern of landscape is active demand by advisable regulate and control. The research of landscape space pattern theories and application is necessary support for the city general planning of Nanjing, the ecological city planning of Nanjing, the planning of allocation of productive force of Nanjing, the green space system planning of Nanjing and other plans about space pattern.According to theories of landscape ecology and landscape planning of city, the paper takes entire Nanjing city as the field of research. Based on technologies of GIS and RS, the paper focus on appellation research of the landscape pattern dynamic analysis, function evaluation and optimize of megapolis region. The stress of ecology environment and the intension of human activities boost up constantly during the accelerated development of urbanization. The paper wants to seek after applied approaches of landscape ecology of megapolis region in China.
