With the continuous profound developing of chemistry, biology and medicine, the request for experimental technique is becoming strict more and more. Then some high and new technologies emerge to meet the situation. Application of surface plasmon resonance technique attracts the most attention. This thesis studies the surface plasmon resonance in nano-films and the influence of optical non-linearity on surface plasmon resonance.This thesis firstly analyzes the condition which surface plasmon can be excited under. According to Maxwell's equations and Fresnel's equations, we establish the mathematics model of 4 layers of prism coupling surface plasmon resonance, and make numerical analysis of surface plasmon utilizing this mathematics model. We discuss the influence of wavelength, refractive index of prism, the thickness and refractive index of metal and medium on surface plasmon resonance, namely the minimum reflectance coefficient, resonance angle and peak width at half-height.We introduce optical nonlinear medium to multi-layers structure and discuss the influence of optical non-linearity on surface plasmon resonance. Dielectric constant is related to intensity as for optical non-linearity medium. We set out from Maxwell's equations and make use of transmission matrix to establish the mathematics model of containing optical non-linearity medium. Utilizing this mathematics model, we discuss the varying tendency of minimum reflectance and resonance angle under the linear and nonlinear condition. In addition, we discuss the changes of the minimum reflectance, resonance angle, nonlinear refraction index and nonlinear absorption index verse light intensity.
