This paper describes mostly course of the developing and debugging process of a grid ionization chamber. The grid ionization chamber is one sort of the ionization chamber, so this paper begins with the general principle of ionization chamber and has a discussion on its theory in detail, then, shows its particularity and realization. At last we calculated its consequence in theory and described the developing and debugging process.Grid ionization chamber is one sort of pulse electron-collection ion chamber which we usually detect a-particle or the energy of fission fragment. It has a plate electrode and a addition pole(grid) in order to reduce the impact of heavy ion. The addition pole is intermediate potential. Grid ionization chamber has the faster time response. It collects electron fast in order to increase counting rate, at the same time it eliminates dependence between the output pulse amplitude and original ionization position of same sort ionization chamber, it can be also used in measurement of particle power.It has extrusive virtue to measure the data of outgoing charged particle caused by neutron with the grid ionization chamber,for example the detection efficiency is enough (approach to 100%) and detecting solid angle is approach to 2Ï€. We can get the data of particle angular distribution and energy spectrum and double differential cross-section; It can be adaptable to detect diversity energy and diversity charged particle and have particle resolving ability by changing air pressure of work gas. The grid ionization chamber becomes the important charged particle detector because of these virtues. The choice of each pole voltage makes the collection of electron satisfied the condition of saturation and grid no seize.The energy resolution rate of the grid ionization chamber that we expected is1%, and the final actual energy resolution is 0.9%.
